Stanislaw Lem

Stanislaw Lem is one of the best sci fi writers currently not a science fiction writer, especially if you take into account his recent minaturization by the robotic transmogrifiers of the late 20th century. solaris, memoirs found in a bathtub (the best) and tales of pirx are syrup on the pan galactic gargle blaster pancakes. Soon, a blockbuster movie, Solaris, will be remade by Steven Soderbergh and James Cameron. Based on the super-ultra-cool 1972 Soviet Union film Solaris directed by Andrei Tarkovsky from the adaptation by Tarkovsky and Fridrikh Gorenshtein. Now, Stanislaw Lem is all about miniaturization of insect flying planes that think as a swarm. So if you think of all famous hollywood people as a swarm, you would conclude, in Lem solaris movie world, that if you were attacked by such a swarm on Solaris, it wouldnt matter how many you defeated, as the RNA needed to reconstitute the entire swarm would live on in each of the george cloony's.
